Their exceptional product as a luxury cruise has consistently garnered the highest possible accolades from leading guide books including: Six Stars, Fielding's Guide to Worldwide Cruises (1996 – 1999) and Six-plus Ribbons, awarded by Stern's Cruise Guide for nine consecutive editions (1997 – 2005). Silversea Launches Remote Wireless Internet Service Guests of Silversea Cruises will soon be surfing the Internet faster and more conveniently. The ultra-luxury cruise line had launched remote wireless Internet access (also known as Wi Fi) in designated locations aboard its ships and has revamped its Internet centers with new state-of-the-art computers featuring 17-inch flat screen monitors. The enhanced cyber technology debuted aboard Silver Shadow last month and will be expanded to the rest of the fleet by the end of the year.
With the implementation of the new system, guests who bring their personal Wi-Fi-enabled laptops will be able to access the Internet and their e-mail in the Panorama Lounge (aboard Silver Cloud and Silver Wind) or Observation Lounge (aboard Silver Shadow and Silver Whisper), as well as the library, card room and conference room aboard all the luxury cruise ships. Guests will also have access to over 270 daily newspapers from around the world, offered at a nominal fee, plus the Fox News channel will be joining CNN and BBC on the roster of complimentary in-suite-TV news channels available to guests. Among the enhancements available to the cruise travelers visiting the newly-equipped Internet centers is the ability to quickly upload and send images from their digital cameras, making it easier than ever to share great cruise vacation moments with family and friends. Staying connected gives our guests more time to stay on board, relax and have fun.
The Spirit of Exploration Silversea Cruise Line is pleased to offer a new enrichment series called “The Spirit of Exploration”. On select voyages, an internationally acclaimed adventurer will serve as the ship’s Resident Explorer, hosting guests to a series of entertaining presentations that reveal the explorer’s knowledge, personal insights and quest for discovery. The Resident Explorer will also accompany the cruise travelers on selected shore excursions.
